If this is the case, it is paramount that the infection is diagnosed and treated. As if left untreated, it can lead to loss of functionality in the tooth and even tooth loss. Other symptoms associated with requiring endodontic treatment include unusual discoloration of the tooth, swollen gums, and abscesses.
